Position Summary
As a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, you’ll manage the flow of goods in and out of Threadbird’s production facility. You’ll be responsible for receiving wholesale garments and materials, verifying quantities against production orders, staging them for production, and ensuring finished orders are accurately packed and shipped to customers. This role is critical to keeping production running smoothly and ensuring customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Receiving
- Receive incoming wholesale goods and supplies from vendors.
- Verify counts against packing slips and production orders; notate and report shortages, overages, or damages.
- Communicate missing or delayed items to Production and Customer Accounts via Slack.
- Unbox, organize, and stage goods onto carts with Job Orders and mockups for delivery to production teams.
- Maintain accurate records of received goods in inventory/production systems.
Production Support
- Coordinate with Screen Printing and Embroidery teams to ensure goods are staged, labeled, and delivered on time for production.
- Track incoming and staged orders to prevent bottlenecks or delays.
- Assist production leads with order flow by ensuring the right items are in the right place at the right time.
Outbound Shipping
- Receive completed orders from Production and verify accuracy of garments, quantities, and packaging against Job Orders.
- Prepare outbound shipments: packing, labeling, sealing, and palletizing as required.
- Ship via carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, freight) using shipping software and online portals.
- Ensure shipments meet customer specifications and deadlines.
- Maintain shipping supply inventory (boxes, tape, labels, packing materials).
Workplace & Safety
- Keep receiving and shipping areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols, including safe lifting and handling practices.
- Assist in cycle counts or periodic physical inventories.
Technology & Communication
- Use Slack daily to communicate order status, shortages, or issues with Production, Customer Accounts, and Warehouse teams.
- Operate shipping software, label printers, and barcode scanners.
- Update inventory or production management systems with accurate receiving and shipping data.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and follow packing slips, purchase orders, and production job tickets.
- Experience with shipping platforms (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, ShipStation, etc.) a plus.
- Tech-savvy, with comfort using Slack and other digital tools to communicate and track work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with multiple departments.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and move large boxes/carts as needed.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (not climate-controlled).
- Ability to safely use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment.
